Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) is promoting Travelwise Week which runs this week from 19th-23rd September. The aim is to help improve the environment with smarter travel, as well as saving our pockets and helping our fitness!

According to MSDC, an incredible 77% of air polution in West Sussex is produced by motor vehicles. It is estimated that commuters could save a substantial £700 a year by switching from car to bicycle and over £100 a year by sharing lifts to work. What's more, a 30 minute cycle ride counts toward one of our five recommended cardiovasular exercise sessions per week.

Councillor Pru Moore, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Sustainability has said on the MSDC website: "It is so important that we look to tackle environmental issues now and

start living in a more sustainable way because future generations will

suffer if we do not."

So, will you be making some changes for travelwise week?
