If you're passionate about the motorcar, the environment, or both, Burgess Hill has lots of entertainment to offer you this weekend. Couldn't care less about cars? You may want to check out the Wild About Mid Sussex Exhibition, Fashion Show or Christmas Stall instead...

A Veteran of the Future?
But for those who do love cars, you're spoilt with the RAC Brighton to London Future Car Challenge this Saturday. And then...the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on Sunday!
Both events go through Burgess Hill so expect a little more traffic in the town. They are, of course, free to spectate.
So what can you expect to see? The Future Car Challenge brings sustainable motoring to the attention of the public and encourages environmentally friendly vehicles. Electric, Hybrid and Low Emission ICE Vehicles will travel the 60 mile route. Could these be the vehicles of the future? Would you own one? Mid Sussex District Council supports this event and has reminded people that even if you need to use your car, you can still lessen the impact on the environment by lift sharing and turning off your engine when stuck in traffic or stationary.
Sunday's car event is perhaps less environmentally friendly with a parade of vintage vehicles. You can expect to see some of these vehicles coming through Burgess Hill between 08.55am and 15.00pm.
So will you be spectating? If so, take some photos and share them with us!

Given the amount of energy that it takes to manufacture new cars, even more for hybrid vehicles, I would argue that the veteran cars have a far smaller carbon footprint. Also, will we still be driving Toyota Prius's around in 100 years? - I'm sure by then they will all have been melted down and made into hoverboards (maybe).
Nice german registered TR2 by the way. Shame the British car industry is no longer the force it once was
