It's that time of year again...the children are excited with end of term activities well underway and the teachers are exhausted! And for about 6 weeks over the summer, it's the parents who will need to entertain the cherubs, while the teachers take a breather. So, if you're stuck for ideas on what to do/where to go with the kids this summer, fear not! Help is at hand.

Olympos Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill is providing a full school holiday activity programme from 26 July-31 August. Activities are age categorised and range from those appropriate for 18 months-14 years old. There are a whole host of activities on offer ranging from sporty pastimes such as assault courses, water races and even Wii sports, to arts and crafts, parachute games and hair braiding. Take a look at the full programme by clicking here.

Olympos is also hosting a four day Arsenal Soccer School Football Course from August 26-29 from 10am-3pm for those inspired by the world cup!

For fun within beautiful surroundings, Borde Hill Gardens are offering a 'Summer Fun for kids' programme which will run from 26 July-27 August.

If it's a rainy day, the Orion Cinema in Burgess Hill often shows a selection of films suitable for children and the website can be viewed here.

Alternatively, get the bikes out and explore the stunning countryside around Burgess Hill by cycling parts of the green circle, or walk and enjoy a picnic, perhaps taking a frisbee along too.

Washbrooks Farm in nearby Hurstpierpoint is also a great place for a family day out and their maize maze opens this month...this could keep the kids entertained for a while...

So, a few ideas to get your summer holiday plans started. Perhaps you know of some other holiday kids activities that you'd be happy to share here? Have a great time!
