I don't know which is uglier?

These stone "Alien egg" sculptures or the green metal "Transformer" sculpture in St John's Park?

Who commissioned them please? MSDC?

How much did they cost us, the taxpayer?

Was the person responsible for commissioning these monstrosities sacked?

Why not replace them with far more natural environment e.g. flowers/greenery/trees/shade/seating/water feature?

It could easily be made a far more attractive and actually useful area, instead of the eyesore and unnecessary obstacle course it currently is.
