It would be a huge mistake to have a rare Art Deco cinema and other well loved and useful buildings along Cyprus Road, replaced by an unnecessary and bland supermarket.
Why not leave the cinema alone and actually use the huge area of fenced off and unused car park land behind the cinema as a car park? Why not reduce car parking charges or even make them free for short periods of time. By doing so, car drivers will be encouraged to come into Burgess Hill town centre, to spend their money with the local shops and services. Instead car drivers are being persecuted, by traffic wardens and high car parking charges, either discouraging them from coming to Burgess Hill town centre or encouraging them to park for free in the surrounding residential roads, making those roads congested, narrow and dangerous.

I can only agree that the cinema must stay!!! It would be useful to have a 30 min-1 hr free parking option, making it easier to pop into town to get just a few bits. Not only is it the cost of parking that can perhaps put people off but also needing to have change! And you get no change if you're only there for 15 minutes. Perhaps paying 10p per 10 minutes instead of 60p an hour would encourage more people to park in town?
