    Beware of telephone scam in Mid Sussex
    Mid Sussex District Council is warning residents in the local area of a telephone scam where callers are pretending to be from Mid Sussex District Council and then asking residents for bank details. The council states that whilst they do sometimes need to ask residents for bank details this is only ever when the resident has called the council.   • Former Police Officer from Burgess Hill charged with indecent child images

    A former Sussex Police Officer from Burgess Hill has been charged with 42 offences in relation to distributing and making thousands of indecent images of children. Philip Savidge will now appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on 21st June in relation to these charges. He was first arrested in September last year and has recently answered police bail.

    Sussex Police have issued a warning from users of AGMs after three suspicious devices were found on cash machines in a week. The devices were attached to cash machines in Church Road, Burgess Hill and also Keymer Road, Hassocks. The one in Church Road was attached to the 'hole in the wall' at Barclays Bank.
