Hit and run victim named

The young victim of a fatal hit and run incident which happened on Saturday 22nd October around 4.40am in Hassocks has been named.

Kalan Fletcher, 23, from Hassocks was tragically killed in the incident which happened on the A273.

Police have recovered a Ford Transit van in Worthing and would like to speak to Imran Shakaut, 26, in relation to the incident. Inspector Steve Grace of the Sussex Police's Road Policing Unit has said on the Sussex Safer Roads website 'We believe that Mr Shakaut may hold vital information which will assist officers with their enquiruies into this tragic incident'. He has asked that Mr Shakaut comes forward to speak with the police, or anyone who may know of his whereabouts or who observed the incident or a Ford Transit van in the area around the time of the incident.
