Weather warnings have been issued for West Sussex by the Met Office

for the start of this week, with rain and gales expected from

tonight. Gusts of wind of more than 70 miles per hour are

predicted for coastal areas.

Heavy showers are expected. Could this be good news for the area following recent news that our local reservoirs have been drying up? The rain is expected to continue well into Tuesday.

West Sussex has a yellow warning for rain  and the public have been advised that the rainfall has the potential to cause localised flooding from rivers and surface water. The minimum temperature expected tonight is 4C.

The rest of the week looks set to continue a wintry trend with further rain expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Drivers are advised to take extra care on the roads.

So, perhaps a good week for writing Christmas cards, wrapping presents and sitting by the fire...
