TWO town charities are set to benefit from a new fundraiser.

East Grinstead and District Access Group and the Rotary Club of East Grinstead Meridian are among four organisations supported in the first Sussex Living Marathon weekend.

The event, which consists of three runs totalling 26.2 miles over the May Bank Holiday, will also help charities in Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath.

Rotary Club president John Ellis said he is delighted with the incentive.

"The proceeds will enable us to extend our already significant support for local rotary charities," he said.

The marathon begins with a 10-mile race in East Grinstead on Saturday, May 5, followed by a 10-mile race in Haywards Heath the next day and a 10k race in Burgess Hill on Monday, May 7.

If a place is booked in advance, runners can enter all three races for £35.
