Love it or hate it, there are times when we all get caught up in a bit of home maintenance/improvement work. Whatever your DIY project, there are stores to help out around Burgess Hill.

For those who haven't noticed, Focus is no more in the town and has been replaced with Wickes instead. With lots of DIY materials and tools to choose from, and reasonable prices alongside, it's worth picking up a Wickes catalogue.

Another value for money store with less choice but still some DIY gems, check out Wilkinson in the town centre. They sell all sorts from blinds to garden bulbs and their own brand of paint.

On London Road is Upstairs Downstairs, a store selling wide ranging DIY goods to tradesmen and home improvement enthusiasts alike. And if they haven't got what you're looking for in store, chances are they'll be able to order it for you.

If it's wall or floor tiles you're after, why not try Sussex Wall and Floor Tiling in the town centre? Alternatively, if it's carpet then as well as Carpet Right, there's Station Road Carpets and Disco Carpets.

If you're looking for specialist paint such as Farrow & Ball, rather than trekking to Homebase in Lewes or Hove, it's stocked at Brewers in nearby Haywards Heath and can be purchased at a reasonable price.

Wickes seem to be expanding, new stores springing up everywhere. I like Upstairs Downstairs though.
